BIG NEWS DAY!

4/20 seems like as good a day to launch a website as any. If you’re so hardcore a Nerd Hurdles fan as to be reading this today, before roughly 8pm EST, you’re getting a SUPER SECRETsneak preview of the new nerdhurdles.com website which will be announced on episode #14, Ender’s Game (another leak for you, dear fan) which will be posted, as mentioned, at roughly 8pm EST tonight. Mandi and I are pretty chuffed with the site. The main page, especially, is a thing of geeky beauty.

What’s all involved with the Hurdles site? There’s a new blog (this one won’t be updated any longer except for vital announcements) called The Hurdled Nerd (with several exciting pages), a forum, and a store. The main page and each of the other pages link to this Podbean site, which will remain the actual hub of Nerd Hurdles. Really, all you’ll need to have bookmarked is this site and you’ll find likes to the blog, store and forum on the side. But take a look at the splashy main page once in a while as maybe it’ll change sometimes.

Come visit! Come join the forums! Dork in, nerd on, and geek out!

We’re trying to get Nerd Hurdles out on a regular schedule. The idea is I’ll feel less like my entire week (and, by extension, life) is taken up with podcasting. The plan: record Thursday or Friday / edit on Sunday / post on Monday. So far, the plan hasn’t worked out. We recorded multiple episodes on the weekend and Episode 12 still needs some work before being posted. Probably tonight. Hopefully.

In other news: I hope to work on the Nerd Hurdles site over the Easter long weekend. Look for that. And that other show I put on the back-burner is still on the back-burner but I’ve turned the heat up to “med” and added more ingredients to the pot.

I did it, I killed P-Reviews. There’s more in the works though. Nerd Hurdles will become bigger and better. Or better and the same size. Or… exactly the same. But continuing. Also Mr. Dapper’s Extra-Ordinary Speaking Blog is in the works. You can find Mr. Dapper at these places:

P-Reviews may only last another three episodes. That would bring it up to a nice round 30. Or it might be back after a hiatus. The reasons for this are a) Nerd Hurdles is better, more rewarding and takes a lot of time to produce; and b) I’m out of ideas and I feel like I’m just recycling my jokes. Worry not, I’ll replace P-Reviews with a new shortform podcast, but I don’t know what it is yet. Perhaps I’ll have my screen-reader recite Klingon poetry in Stephen Hawking voice.

Well, much like when Rich announced he was going to retire Bollocks, I think this was me thinking outloud. But I do think P-Reviews will carry-on more like the most recent episode (#28) and probably in a longer format with Nae and/or other guests. I have ideas for a new short form podcast too which are making me giggle to myself.
