Ampersand Publishing is a small independent press based in Toronto specializing in what we call mini-books. Maybe you’d call them zines. Some people might call them chapbooks. We also put out CDs as Arachnidiscs and have been doing so for longer than we’ve been publishing mini-books. You can learn more about this at http://www.amp-pub.tumblr.com where all things Ampersand are huddled together like orphans at a bus stop under an umbrella.
About the Podcasts:

Nerd Hurdles - nerd hur’dle - (nûrd hûr’dl) n., v. -dled, -dling -n. a barrier or blockade of ‘nerdiness’ that an individual not of the nerd persuasion must metaphorically ‘leap’ over in order to enjoy or fully appreciate a given experience or situation. She loves Mel Gibson but the aliens were just too big a nerd hurdle for her to really enjoy Signs. -v. to successfully overcome a nerd hurdle.
Jakob and Mandi discuss all manner and forms of nerdery and geekery and what makes them magnificent and tragic. This weekly epic explores the depths of what fandoms mean to their fans. Sacred cows of the sci-fi, fantasy, comic book and any other genre that makes the general public squirm with discomfort get the irreverent Nerd Hurdles treatment (and nerdy love).

P-Reviews - CANCELLED. Reviews of albums based on 30-second download store samples; movies based on trailers and posters; people based on apearances; and the proverbial books based on their proverbial covers. These were also recorded for the show Enthusiam Radio (Tuesdays 7:30-9:00 am PST) hosted by Ken Holiday and broadcast by CHLY 101.7fm (Nanaimo, BC). http://www.chly.ca
